Carpe Diem

"Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead." - Buffy
Buffy's words from the first ever episode of Buffy stuck in my head. Seizing the moment isn't as easy as it seems because your brain goes into overdrive of "NO, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?!?!!?" But sometimes, my mind just seems to shut down instead. Like yesterday, for example. I got my first tattoo. It says Carpe Diem on my side. Carpe Diem is latin for "Seize the day". I don't often seize the day but yesterday I did.

When I was living at home, I literally did nothing but wake up, sit on my bed with my laptop and watch TV or read a book while attempting to write fanfiction. I now live out of home and spend most of my time not writing fanfiction. This years been better than last year. Sure, I haven't been updating as much as I did in high school but it's better than last year. I didn't update between February and October last year. That's pretty much when I went through this rough patch and when the problem left, I opened a document file and wrote for three days straight. I just wish I had enough time each week to be updating at least two-three times a fornight per story so I can finish them all....
Sigh. If only.

Don't You, Forget About Me

80's were great for one thing:
Coming of age movies. Teen Mobies. Craptastic B-Grade horror films that I refuse to watch without a pillow in front of my face. Grade 11 English was great. We studied The Breakfast Club - which is probably my favourite 80's movie ever. Pretty In Pink, St Elmo's fire, Ferris Bueller's Day Off are god-awesome too. I have been wanting to see Sixteen Candles for about as long as I've heard of it. I find it weird that Molly Ringwald was cast in so many roles as the main actress. She's not that pretty and with red hair. I have red hair naturally and I'm not pro-ranga. I now understand where the nickname Ducky comes from. It's referenced in the first California Diaries book, and I was always like, "Dude, who is this Ducky guy?". I watched Pretty In Pink, and there is Ducky, pining for Molly Ringwald who in the end chose Andrew McCarthy. It's also weird to think that Ducky is now Charlie Sheen's brother in Two and A Half men....

Castiel, dreamboat angel

I'm Sorry.

I have to say this.

CASTIEL IS SO FREAKING HOT.
I've let it out, I can move on now.
I hope.
I watched the first season of Supernatural on tv. The season ended and then I waited three months for it to return to tv. Did it? No. Supernatural has problems airing over here on tv. Yes, it's popular. Yes, it's so freaking annoying that I had to wait to see season 5 on DVD for like three months. But was it worth it? YES YES YES! Dean is hot. Sam is cute. Castiel is just skfnwknk. He's probably my favourite character out of the whole show and he's been in it less than two full seasons. Something about him is so socially awkward (maybe because he doesn't get Dean's pop culture references) and so blunt. He just is now part of team free will. Sigh.
Another show that I'm obessed with is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Thank god in that universe sparkly vampires don't exist. Seriously. Sparkly vampires? Are you kidding me? Anyways, vampires on Buffy were a little bit more realistic and scary and weren't pansys who couldn't kick ass. Buffy is kind of a hero to me. Willow and I share the same kind of social awkwardness that makes some situations weird.
Anya is just so Anya. Dawn reminds me of my
annoying little brother. Dawn really doesn't do the show justice. She's annoyed me since the first episode of season 5. She just got worse as the show progressed.
Tres` annoying.

Teenage Dream

Lately there has been this big "thing" about what would you tell your sixteen year old self. I was 16 three years ago. I was in grade eleven. Here's what I would tell myself:

  • Don't do OP. Change straight away to Voc-Ed. Keep OP English, but seriously. CHANGE! You won't regret it because you'd probably get better grades than the shit ones you got for two years.

Don't worry about not having a boyfriend because within a year, you'll go through two relationships and come out hating the idea of being in one.

Start saving for that trip to America. It will become your life's mission to become an american citizan. And your going to need serious amounts of dough to do that.

When it comes to the end of the school year and your in the biggest friendship fight of your life. (Yes, the one that you didn't go to school for two weeks and then went to a different school to sign up for) Don't give up. It seems like the end of the world and that your never going to have any friends and that you spent 9 weeks alone all summer but when you walk up to the group on the first day of senior year and it's like that fight never happened, that moment is probably the greatest feeling you feel.

Sunny Winslow will become your hero. Right now, you just copy her look.

That day you and Rachael skipped school and went to chermside and you came home and Mrs Sullivan left a message. Thank the heavens when she calls back several weeks later, it's about Luke, not you.

Don't worry about growing up. By the time you hit 19, you still don't wanna.
You're never going to grow. 157cm for the rest of your life baby.
Contact that girl from when you were eleven and she was your best friend. Never is too late.
Become a serious vegetarian.
Finish collecting all of those Baby-Sitters Club books. They get more expensive as the years go on.

"Hi, my name is Johnny Knoxville and welcome to jackass!"

jackass is good.
jackass is great.
jackass is awesome.
I'm pretty sure I don't even know how I got into jackass but I'm pretty sure I love it.
I am pretty immature for a 19 year old sometimes. Some would argue, most of the time. jackass started when I was 8 and I didn't start watching it until I was at least 15. I own pretty much everything related to it other than jackass 3-D which came out like four days ago. Yes, I saw it. Yes, I loved it. One major downside was that it didn't have my favourite jackass/Viva La Bam member, Brandon DiCamillo. Man, that boy can make me laugh. I love his crazy, whacked out sense of humor and his weird way of dressing up in outfits, Eg: When Phil wasn't allowed to eat, Brandon turned up in a general's outfit with a hat on and proceded to cover himself in food...
I guess I'm pretty immature but still: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Right now, my obession is Nicki Minaj. The girl has a ghettoo bootah bigger than Kim Kardashian's and this really cool tattoo down her arm. Ps, her songs are super catchy which is good. I'm not big into doing new things. I'm set deep into my roots of what I like, in terms of what books I enjoy (Stephen King, Teen Lit, Classics, Psychology books, Celeb bio's, TV show guide books), what music I like (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Muse, Placebo and good bootah shakin' rap music) and what movies I love (Little Miss Sunshine, (500) Days of Summer, Juno, Lars and the real girl). My friends think I'm weird but I think I like to take a step out of the box of "normality".
What is "normal" anyways? Does anyone ever know? Find out? Reach that goal that will ulimatliy let them into the "IN" crowd?
I don't know.
I'll let you know.
